My Story

I knew I wanted to be a lawyer from the age of 12. I did work experience at a local law firm, and realised it was exactly what I wanted to do.

I studied law at Glasgow University. converted to English law at Nottingham, and then completed my LPC at the College of Law in Birmingham. Soon after, I completed my traineeship with a firm in Manchester,, and was admitted to the Law Society of England and Wales.

I started working in financial services shortly after graduating. My final year had taken its toll a bit and I thought a wee rest would do me the world of good.

Anyway, I ended up staying with the same employer for 24 years, but did a variety of roles with an element legal and HR.

I have always had a love of theatre, music and the arts in general. I have sat on a variety of boards over the years and gained new skills, made new connections, as well as seeing A LOT of work over those years.

I have always had a passion for volunteering, whether in the disability arena, mental health, arts or climate related. I remember doing my first sponsored event at the age of 10 and I haven't stopped since.

Having worked in financial services for 24 years, it's time to move in a completely different direction.

Shortly before the pandemic, I experienced a mental health crisis. Life caught up with me, and it took me a while to realise that I needed to stop. Pause. And take better care of me. â€‹

Five and a half years later - and a whole load of other tragic events in the intervening period - I am trying to create a new life for myself. Professionally and personally.
